On this day in Tudor history, 22nd August 1485, the forces of King Richard III and Henry Tudor, who’d just returned from exile, met at the Battle of Bosworth, one of the most significant battles in English history. Richard III was killed, Henry Tudor was victorious, and a new royal dynasty was born – The Tudors.
To mark the anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth, I thought I’d bring together some of my Bosworth resources, including videos, articles and expert talks exploring the road to Bosworth, the battle itself and what happened afterwards.
You can find out more about the lead-up to Bosworth, the battle and what happened afterwards in Nathen Amin’s talk on the Tudor Society website – click here.
