why is anne boleyn not considered queen anne 1? was she queen when she died? just wondering because i was researching the monarchs of england and wondered why queen anne (sucessor of william & mary) is not considered queen anne ii? or is that only for kings?
Anne Boleyn was not a Queen Regnant, not the monarch, she was Henry VIII's consort. Queen Anne, the Stuart Queen, was the actual ruling monarch. Hope that makes sense. Just like Queen Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh, is not King Philip. He is Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark so that's why he is a prince.
Did Henry not try to make her Queen Regnant at one stage?
A queen regnant is a reigning monarch, so Anne Boleyn could not have been that as she had no claim to the throne. If you mean regent, no, he never made Anne regent. Catherine of Aragon was regent while he was away in France and then Catherine Parr was also regent while he was away.
