I’m sorry for all the questions, but just one more! When Anne was pregnant, Henry put a great deal of pressure for it to be a boy, did he do the same thing when Catherine of Aragon was pregnant? Did he write things before the child was born stating prince like he did Elizabeth? Thank you so much I love the site!! :):)

Henry expected Elizabeth to be a boy because he was convinced that God would bless his new marriage and that the lack of a son and heir before was because his marriage to Catherine was contrary to God's laws. I haven't read anywhere of him actually pressurising Catherine but she would have felt the pressure nonetheless because she was queen and that was her job.
