Is there anything that Anne could have done to save her life? What do you think was Anne’s biggest mistake?
The only thing she could have done to make herself secure was to have a son and that was out of her control. I don't believe that she made a mistake. Although some have criticised her for being too outspoken and feisty, that was the woman Henry fell in love with. Although her words to Norris were reckless, in speaking of "dead men's shoes", and therefore the King's death, I believe that the plot against her was already under way at that point. If she had been kinder to Mary then she may not have been as unpopular, but I don't believe that anything, apart from a son, would have saved her.
