Do you know what Anne Boleyn’s favorite color was? Thank you.
No, I'm afraid I don't know what Anne's favourite colour was. In his book "The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn", Eric Ives talks about dresses and fabric that Anne ordered: a cloak in black satin, a green damask gown, coronation robes of purple velvet, gowns of tawny velvet, a russet gown in caffa, 2 in black velvet, one in black damask, one in white satin, a gown of purple cloth and kirtles in white satin, white damask, black velvet and crimson satin.
She obviously liked wearing black but it's hard to say what her favourite colour was.
black was for the wealthy so that is no indication of color preference…if you do some fabric research of the time period you can see what fabrics or colors were typical to show rank or wealth and what might have been more of a preference….
and purpel was to show she was royalty no matter what the catholic people say
What do “Catholic people say?” It’s common knowledge that purple symbolized royalty, and the Catholic Church has never said otherwise.
no! the catholic people said she wasn’t royalty
I heard that her favourite colour was yellow. (Don’t know where)
She was known to wear yellow in a sense to celebrate the death of catherine of aragon. She was said to be happy that day and chose to wear yellow it being a bright joyful color.
Hi Tab,
The contemporary sources actually differ regarding who wore yellow that day – see https://www.theanneboleynfiles.com/8-january-1536-joyful-yellow-triumphant-parading/ for more on this.
I read somewhere that her favorite color was green.
Actually, now that I think of it, I think it was green. I remember reading something online saying, “Anne’s favourite colour was green.’ Yellow and green can look the same anyway. Lol.
Green sleeves?
