I know that the last stillborn baby which Anne had is buried at Windsor Chapel, I believe cose to his father… a bit sad, specially because he’s not with her mother but with JS…
Hi Raisa,
It’s not the infant son of Anne Boleyn which is buried in the vault, it’s the son of Queen Anne, the Stuart queen who was queen from 1702-1707. See http://www.stgeorges-windsor.org/assets/files/LearningResources/BackgroundNotesHenryVIII.pdf where it says:-
“The resting place of Henry VIII and Jane Seymour in the Quire of St George’s Chapel was intended to be temporary while a grand monument was completed. However, the tomb was never finished and the location of the vault which Henry had intended to be temporary was not permanently marked until the 19th century. The vault was opened in 1649 following the beheading of Charles I and his body added to it. It was opened again in the 17th century to house the body of a stillborn child of the future Queen Anne.”
Oh, thank you Claire! I confused Anne with the other Queen Anne… by the way!! Congratulations for the page!! I love it!! I have been reading all I could find about Anne since I was only 6 years old and I must say I couldn’t find a more complete page than yours! I love it and enjoy reading and discovering new things about Anne! It’s so exciting! Thank you for all the work and tenderness you’ve put in this page!!
