Do you think Henry really believed Anne cheated on him and had her executed mainly because of blinding jealousy?
I to and fro over Henry and his involvement in Anne's downfall! I think Henry was a very paranoid man and this had led him to believe that the lack of a son meant that there was something wrong with his marriage to Anne Boleyn and, of course, it had to do with her and not him, as he was God's anointed and chosen sovereign. I think that this paranoid state meant that he could believe just about everything about Anne and it was also convenient for him to believe that Anne had betrayed him because it meant that he could get rid of her, move on, marry Jane and have a son. I don't think it was blind jealousy, I think he saw Anne as a traitor, the love who had let him down and committed the ultimate betrayal.
