July 10 – Lady Jane Grey is proclaimed Queen Jane!

On this day in Tudor history, 10th July 1553, four days after the death of King Edward VI, Lady Jane Grey was officially proclaimed “Queen Jane” at the Tower of London, in Cheapside and Fleet Street.

One boy didn’t think much of the proclamation and was outspoken about his views. This led to a rather nasty punishment for him.
