As you all know, a few weeks ago I wrote about the National Portrait Gallery’s appeal to raise funds to carry out urgent restoration work on their famous portrait of Anne Boleyn – see Anne Boleyn Portrait at Risk. Well, many of you emailed me to say that you had donated (thank you!) and the NPG also thanked us for raising awareness, but I’ve been racking my brain on how we at The Anne Boleyn Files could actually help with the fundraising. I’ve decided that for the month of February we will give 10% of our profits to the appeal. We need to save this painting!
You can find out more about the appeal at the special NPG page – http://www.npg.org.uk/support/donation/conservation-donation.php
There is also a special Facebook page –Save Anne Boleyn to raise awareness for the appeal.
Thank you! I’ve put off purchasing from this site for too long, and now that I can help contribute to saving my favorite Anne Boleyn portrait, I’m going shopping! (Just as soon as my paycheck clears, lol.)
That’s a wonderful idea! Let’s save this painting!
I have a mostly Anne targeted Tumblr account, I’ve posted links to this website and the NPG’s about helping the fundraising cause. I hope it can get you a few customers and I will definitely be making a purchase this month as well!
So if I buy stuff this month, then 10% goes to the painting fund? Wow – i just ordered some necklaces and a bracelet this month because I found some extra cash and was treating myself to an early birthday git.
Glad you liked my idea that I had posted on facebook. People can now feel like they’re really helping while getting something from here that they want 🙂
Glad you liked my idea that I had posted on facebook. People will feel like they’re really helping now & feel good about it. They might order things more 🙂
I plan on ordering 2 more Anne Boleyn dresses next week. I’m glad that I didn’t place my order for the blue embroidered dress and the celebration dress when they first came out last week! Great idea!
