Wow, I can’t quite believe that The Anne Boleyn Files is two years old today, it only seems like yesterday that I had a dream about being present at Anne Boleyn’s execution and then started the website as a result of that. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again, thank you so much for your support as this website just would not exist without you guys reading the articles, commenting, discussing, buying things and spreading the message – thank you from the bottom of my heart.
To celebrate our 2 year birthday I asked you to write an article on “Did the life and death of Anne Boleyn make an impact on history and, if so, how and why?” and I had some fabulous articles sent to me. The 17 people who entered all put their hearts and souls into the article and the judges had a tough time deciding on a winner, in fact, they had a bit of an argument! Anyway, eventually we chose a winner but there are also two runners up.
Here are the results:-
- Winner – Anne Clinard Barnhill for her article “Anne Boleyn – Rockin’ Renaissance”
- Runners up – Jennifer Schuh’s “Anne Boleyn’s Impact on History” and Ingrid Camargo da Motta’s “And if any person will meddle..”. Ingrid, I can’t believe how good your English is!
Anne wins a signed copy of Robert Parry’s “The Arrow Chest” and a $20 Anne Boleyn Files voucher and Jennifer and Ingrid win $10 Anne Boleyn Files vouchers.
Thank you to everyone who entered, the judges enjoyed reading every article and it was really tough choosing a winner. I have published all of the entries at our “Impact on History” page. I’m proud to have such quality writing on The Anne Boleyn Files.
Congratulations to the winners of this competition and also to all of us that entered it !!!! All the articles are absolutely brilliant and great to read. I think Anne would be proud of us !!!!
Oh I also forgot to say a big thank you to Claire and the other judges for taking the time and effort to read all the entries and picking the winners, I’m sure it took many hours
I wish to congradulate on your amazing work over these two years. I think it was about a year and a half ago when I first came to this site because of my outrageous “obsession” ,as my boyfriend says, with Anne Boleyn. There was not this much going on when I first saw this site but I believed dearly in it. I get such pleasure from getting to read the blogs and thoughts of others on my most beloved historical person. You inspire me to continue my own research and faith in this fallen lady of history.
Well done! 🙂
Congratulations to all, and Happy Birthday Anne Boleyn Files!! 😀 Wonderful articles!!
Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday Anne Boleyn Files and thank you Claire for giving us a wonderful place to share our thoughts, ideas and our Tudor passions. There are way too many forums where flaming and name calling is allowed and often encouraged. It’s great to come to a site where we can even disagree and still be friends. 🙂 But most of all, have a fantastic time! Many happy returns!
My God! I am so glad! So Happy! I really want to thank all of you, and you Claire! Congrats! I really love this site ♥
All the best on two years and here’s to many, many more years. I enjoy the discussions, the opinions and learning more about this period of history. So glad you are doing what you love. It shows.
Thanks.
The very best about the anneboleynfiles is its independence. Especially valuable is the balanced approach – not only to history but to any piece of latest research or theory from the world of academia – all are treated equally and measured with honesty and integrity. The same goes for book reviews, which are always thorough and never afraid to go against the trends. Congratulations on two years of truly excellent articles.
You have done a phenomenal job, Claire! Congratulations!
You have given all of us a community we have always wished for, but never had. Your articles are excellent and amazing every single day and such a delight to read!! You are a gift to all of us, and I am certain that Anne herself would applaud you!
