Free Kindle Book – The Fall of Anne Boleyn: A Countdown – 2 Day Promotion

Posted By on May 18, 2012

The Fall of Anne BoleynTo commemorate the anniversary of Anne Boleyn’s execution I am listing the Kindle version of my book The Fall of Anne Boleyn: A Countdown for $0.00 on Amazon US, Amazon UK and Amazon’s international sites today and tomorrow, the 18th and 19th May.

Now, I know that many of you will already have it (thank you!) but I would really appreciate it if you could spread the message to friends, family and Tudor history lovers you know. On the Amazon US site you can even “gift” it to people and, of course, it won’t cost you a single cent. I hope you’ll help me spread the truth behind Anne’s story in this way.

Win a $25 Amazon gift card (or £15 for Amazon UK) by sharing this post, my Facebook posts or Tweets to do with this offer. Simply let me know what you’ve done in the comments below. The lucky winner will be chosen via Random.org and announced on Monday 21st. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of The Fall of Anne Boleyn: A Countdown for yourself too!

P.S. I’d love an Amazon review if you have the time when you’re finished! Thank you!

  31. Jessica R. says:

I posted it on Facebook for all my friends! Most of us are HUGE Tudor fans and read any Tudor book we can find!!

  32. Kristina says:

You’re awesome and I would like to read your book. Thank you for this opportunity: By the way I don’t think you should be so influenced by the Tudors show in your approach sometimes; -I do think that Anne had SOMETHING for Henry VIII at some point when she got involved with him; she may have thought he was sexy or soothing or glorious or magnificent, or something… She may have thought he was a steppingstone , but I don’t think; or I had noticed in your work or thought I noticed it, not sure all of a sudden if it was you or not that said Anne didn’t love Henry at first but grew to like him and you stated that The Tudors show was a major thought point for this

    1. Claire says:

I can’t remember being influenced by The Tudors show. I don’t think Anne loved Henry at first. She retreated to Hever to get away and he bombarded her with letters. I don’t think she thought he was hers to love and didn’t want to waste her time and energy on a man who she thought she could never have. I think it took a lot of persuasion on Henry’s part for her to see him in a different light. He was an incredible man and they were similar in their intellect and what they liked, so Anne did become attracted to him and I don’t feel that she was manipulating him or just using him. It was a passionate and volatile relationship based on love and mutual attraction, in my opinion anyway.

  33. Javaneh Fennell says:

Thank you so so soooo much for the offer! I really love Tudor history and Anne in particular. I feel her story is so tragic because she was a pawn in Henry VIII’s game for a son. You are so passionate for accuracy and it makes me so pleased to read what you have to say! Thank you for helping me indulge my historical nerdiness!

  34. Kristina says:

instead of soothing it was supposed to say the word something: I think I may have put one thought down before I put my first, WHOOPS

    Also:
that said >you Claire Ridgway thought< Anne didn’t love Henry at first but grew to like him and you stated that The Tudors show was a major thought point for this

I know I’ve never commented here, but I do read your blog entries every day and I love them. I’ve learned so much about the Boleyns! It’s kind of difficult to find people who are as much into the Tudor period as I am in my country (as well as specialized books) so I just have to resort to your site!

Thanks for this v. generous gift. I truly appreciate it.

Lots of love from a fan in Argentina… 🙂

I not only posted my link on Facebook, but my Pinterest too — I kn ow a couple of Tudor buffs follow me thanks to some of my other postings. And I’ve shared my Kindle copy with my “baby” sister, whose love of Tudor Engalnd came from yours truly, her big sister *bg*
