Today was the perfect first full day of the tour – a day to explore Hever Castle and its surroundings – the castle itself, the beautiful gardens, the local church with its brass memorials for Thomas Boleyn and Henry Boleyn, the gift shop…

Then, a private after-hours tour of the castle (incorporating the Hidden Hever tour – seeing bits that are usually off limits!) followed by dinner in the actual castle dining room, which is usually roped off. Fantastic! You can read more in my diary entry over on the Tudor Society – click here.

  1. Your timing of this could not be better. Your tour and postings are bringing Anne to life at the same time we’re talking about her imminent death. It’s adds a real emotional element.
