12 September 1555 – Archbishop Thomas Cranmer on Trial

On 12th September 1555, Archbishop Thomas Cranmer’s trial opened at the University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Oxford. Cranmer was charged with repudiating papal authority and denying transubstantiation.
