Yes Anne did choose to wear the English gable hood on many an occasion, though there are more portraits of her wearing the French hood, but intriguingly she choose to wear the gable hood at important events in her life, when her medal was struck in her honour and tragically at her execution when she made her last journey.
Yes, it was obviously a very conscious decision.
