6th July is the anniversary of the deaths of two famous Tudor personalities. Sir Thomas More, Henry VIII’s former Lord Chancellor, was executed on Tower Hill on this day in 1535 and King Edward VI died in the arms of Sir Henry Sidney, one of the Chief Gentleman of his Privy Chamber, on this day in 1553.
