2019 tours launched – The Anne Boleyn Experience and Executed Queens tours

As you know, I’m working with Philippa Lacey Brewell of British History Tours to run Tudor history tours. I’m so excited about doing these, not only because it allows me to get my Tudor history fix, but also because I get to see historical attractions in the company of like-minded people – we get to talk Tudor!

The Anne Boleyn Experience 2018 was an amazing tour with lots of “pinch me” moments and I’m counting the days to the September Discover the Tudors Tour. But now I also get to be excited about 2019 because Philippa and I are leading The Anne Boleyn Experience in May 2019 and the Executed Queens Tour in July 2019. I’m going to be in Tudor heaven. Philippa has just launched the tours on the British History website and you can find out all about them at www.britishhistorytours.com/
but here are some brief blurbs on the tours:

The Anne Boleyn Experience: 12th – 16th May 2019

Stay at Anne Boleyn’s home for the duration of this 4 night/5 day Anne Boleyn Experience tour focusing on the life and death of Queen Anne Boleyn, second wife of King Henry VIII, and including a visit to the site of her execution.

During the tour we will visit three Tudor landmarks: Penshurst Place, the Tower of London and Hever Castle. We will be at Hever Castle, the Boleyn family home, staying for the duration of the tour in a private wing for our exclusive use. It really is amazing to wake up each morning and be able to stroll around the grounds before breakfast or go for a moonlit walk after dinner, it’s out of this world! We’ll also be having the wonderful experience of eating in the castle dining room one night!

Executed Queens Tour: 8th – 13th July 2019

Executed Queens is a 6 day/5 night tour following in the footsteps of 4 queens who met their end at the hands of the executioner in the Tudor period. Anne Boleyn, Katherine Howard, Lady Jane Grey and Mary, Queen of Scots have all left a indelible mark on our history and our imaginations! Learn about their lives and how they came to their tragic end by visiting places significant in their stories and hearing their stories from expert speakers.

You will spend 3 nights in the splendour of a luxurious country house hotel set in the Worcestershire countryside followed by 2 nights at the magical and enchanting Hever Castle where we have exclusive use of the Astor Wing throughout our stay. We’ll even be eating in the castle dining room on one night!
