Elizabeth I Competition!

Elizabeth IToday is a big day for me because it is actually the official launch day of The Elizabeth Files, the sister site of The Anne Boleyn Files.

So many people have said to me that they got interested in Anne Boleyn through studying Elizabeth I that I thought it would be good to offer information on Elizabeth I without overfilling this site.

I love Anne Boleyn, and she will always be my heroine and primary focus, but who wouldn’t be interested in her daughter, a woman who became such an iconic Queen of England, whose reign became known as “The Golden Age” and who had the genes of Anne and Henry VIII?!

Through finding out more about Anne, I realised that I was becoming interested in Elizabeth and so I started reading Elizabeth I biographies and The Elizabeth Files has grown out of my exploration into Elizabeth. How like her mother she was – witty, intelligent, flirtatious and determined!

So, competition time!

If you remember, not long after I launched The Anne Boleyn Files, I ran an article competition entitled “Addicted to Anne” where I asked you to write an article of up to 700 words ( 300-700 words or thereabouts – I’m not fussy!) about why you are so addicted with Anne Boleyn, and I thought it would be a good idea to do the same to commemorate the launch of The Elizabeth Files.

Simply write an article entitled “Addicted to Elizabeth I”, telling me why you are so interested in Elizabeth I, and you could win a $20 voucher to spend in either The Elizabeth Files shop or The Anne Boleyn Files shop. Your article will also be published on The Elizabeth Files site. This is a chance for all you Elizabeth I fans to educate people about her!

The closing date is Friday 11th September so get writing! Email your article to me at claire@theanneboleynfiles.com by midnight on 11th September.

Do check out The Elizabeth Files – it’s obviously  very young and new but I’ve been working hard at it!

  4. Claire,

Oh, thank you! I’m one of the ones drawn to admire Anne by admiring her daughter first, so I’m going to love having The Elizabeth files to play in, too.
