After having lots of Anne Boleyn Files visitors ask me about Anne Boleyn tours and holidays, I decided to devise my very own “Anne Boleyn Experience”. I just could not find a tour which was focused on Anne Boleyn, and that period of Tudor history, to recommend to people so I’ve been busy planning a special Anne Boleyn focused tour.

The Anne Boleyn Experience 2010 will take place at Hever Castle between 17th May and 21st May 2010, and will be open to a select group of 30 participants, allowing everyone to have a personal experience and to get to know each other. Highlights of The Anne Experience will include:-

  • Accommodation at Hever Castle – Where else could an Anne Boleyn tour stay? We will have exclusive use of the WHOLE Astor Wing with its beautiful rooms and conference facilities. We really will be able to walk in Anne Boleyn’s footsteps as we walk round the castle and gardens.
  • A full day at Hever Castle – As well as spending our nights at Hever, we will also have a special private Anne Boleyn tour of the castle and a talk from an expert Hever Castle historian.
  • A day at the Tower of London – We will visit the Tower of London on 19th May, Anne Boleyn Day, to commemorate the anniversary of her execution. We will be able to visit her resting place and see the roses that are left there every year. This day will also include the opportunity to see famous London landmarks. Our own personal tour guide will show us around the Tower.
  • A day at Hampton Court Palace – A chance to see one of Henry VIII’s favourite palaces and enjoy its splendour and the beauty of its gardens. We will have our own personal tour guide.
  • Guest speakers – We will gain in knowledge as we listen to the Hever historian, an expert Tudor costumer (we’ll also see exquisite handmade costumes), our personal guide John Renshaw and Dr Josephine Wilkinson, author of “Mary Boleyn: The True Story of Henry VIII’s Mistress”, “Richard III: The Young King to Be” and the upcoming “The Early Loves of Anne Boleyn”.
  • Special gift pack of 10 Tudor history books, many signed by the authors, plus an Anne Boleyn Files goodie bag.
  • An all-inclusive price – The cost includes everything except your transport to and from the meeting place/drop off point in London.

Visit our special “The Anne Boleyn Experience 2010” website to find out full details of the tour and to book – I’m excited already and it really will be the chance of a lifetime!

****P.S. Sorry about the website “down times” we’re having at the moment – We’ve just moved servers because our old server couldn’t cope and are going through a bit of a “settling in period”. We are in contact with our web hosting company trying to get everything sorted so we don’t have service interruptions but please do bear with us. If they don’t get it sorted soon then it will be off to the Tower with them!!****

  1. Hello

I just put a deposit for the tour and I am beside myself with excitment! Question: Does this tour have a deal with an airline carrier for this trip? I will be coming from the U.S. and was wondering if you could recommend an airline(s).

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards,
    Linda

  2. That is cure about the server issues: Off with their heads!!

This is definitely a tour that would be a dream come true for me.
And only 30 participants?! They are certainly ‘going to make a killing!!”

  3. I am hoping to book on Tuesday….hopefully there will be space available…I will also be coming in from the US…would love to hear any airfair deals that others find!
    Thanks,

  4. Wow, this looks absolutely fantastic! You have a done a great job organizing this. How I wish I could join you. I hope you all have a wonderful time.

  5. The fact that I can’t afford to go makes me want to weep. Perhaps it will become a yearly tradition and someday I can come.

I hope those of you who go will record your experiences to post here!

  6. Hi Linda,
I know http://www.priceline.com and http://www.skyscanner.net are good for finding good flight deals, but you could also shop around with carriers themselves. Has anyone got any other good recommendations? You’d need to fly to London Gatwick or London Heathrow which both have excellent links via train to London Victoria.

It’s great that you can come, Linda, I’m so excited!!

  7. The Kent countryside in May – apple-blossom time. Another added bonus! If anybody is considering coming from overseas to the UK for the first time, this is a great place to start, and a great time to be doing it. (I have lived in Kent for many years – this is a great tour)

  8. Hi Rochie/Sarah,
Yes, the Kent countryside and Hever gardens will look really beautiful in May, so another thing for us to enjoy. I’m working hard to make this a fantastic tour – it’s my dream tour anyway!

  9. Will you post on the website if rooms are sold out or the tour is booked? I cant make the deposit until Tuesday and I am worried that there wont be a space left.

  10. I really wish I could go, but since we just went to London a few months ago, I probably can’t justify going again so soon. I did post about it on my blog though. I hope it’s very successful and that you have a great time!

  11. Hi Daphne,
Thanks for the comment. It looked as if you had a great time in London. I really can’t wait until May, I’m so excited!! Sorry you can’t come x

  12. This sounds absolutely wonderful. I don’t know if I’ll have the money to go though. Something to hope for and pester the hubby about.

  13. My 13 year old daughter is a huge Ann Boleyn fan and that has ignited her interest in English history. I would love to take her on this kind of tour but she is still in school on those dates in May.

Please tell me if something could be arranged. We live in the US and would just love to do something like this the summer of 2010.

  14. Hi Trish,

That’s such a shame that you are unable to come on The Anne Boleyn Experience 2010. I am doing that tour and hopefully another in 2011 but I’m afraid that I’m not doing a tour in the summer holidays of 2010. However, I am happy to help you with an itinerary, by suggesting historical attractions to see, so do let me know what you are interested in anmd I’d be happy to give you advice.

    Kind Regards,

    Claire

  15. Hello,

Here in Belgium we don’t have vacation in may, and I’m still going to school so I could not find a possebility to come on your expirience. I regret it very much ’cause I was intending to go to England this summer.
Is there a change you could arrange another tour?
    I would surely come if there is a change you arrange such a tour in July or August;

    F.
