If you’re anything like me, then you are fed up of 2020! What a year, and we’re only in July!

One of the things that is helping keeping me going at the moment is the thought of next year’s tours. As you know, I co-lead luxury historical tours with Philippa Lacey Brewell of British History tours and next year we’re doing five tours together! Yay! Tudor places! Tudor history lovers! Tudor talk! I just can’t wait.

Three of the tours are already sold out, but Philippa has just launched a July Elizabeth I Experience tour and a September Anne Boleyn Experience, so don’t worry, you haven’t missed out.

Here are brief details, and you can find out even more at the links I share….

The Elizabeth Experience – 24th to 29th July 2021

The September Elizabeth Experience 2021 sold out before we even released it to the public, so people definitely love Gloriana! Due to the popularity, we’re doing another tour in July 2021. This is a brand new tour and I’m so very excited about it. I do love Elizabeth!

You can book your place by going to https://www.britishhistorytours.com/history-tours/elizabeth-i-july-2021

Here is the blurb:

“Elizabeth I, arguably the most successful Tudor monarch, was the leader of a Golden Age in England.
Visiting key places, with top historians, we will tell the story of the life and times of Elizabeth. Covering her relationship with Robert Dudley the man she called her “eyes”, her patronage of the arts all the way from her birth in 1533, her accession to the throne in 1558 through to her death in 1603 and the end of the Tudor dynasty.
If you are an Elizabeth I admirer then this is the tour you’ve been waiting for!”

We visit Stratford-upon-Avon, Kenilworth Castle and Warwick, Hatfield House, Penshurst Place, Hever Castle, Greenwich Palace and Westminster Abbey. There will be expert talks from Claire Ridgway (me again! I do love talking Tudor!) and historian Lesley Smith who will actually appear to us in character as Elizabeth I. I’ve seen her as Mary, Queen of Scots, and it felt like Mary was in front of me!

The Anne Boleyn Experience – 12th to 16th September 2021

This is an Anne Boleyn-focused tour based at Hever Castle, which, of course, is the Boleyn family home. Our May and July Anne Boleyn Experience tours are already sold out, but we’re doing this extra one next year. Places usually sell out quickly so please act soon if you want to join us.

You can find out all the details and book your place at https://www.britishhistorytours.com/history-tours/the-anne-boleyn-experience-september-2021

Here is the blurb to whet your appetite:

“Explore the life and death of the ill-fated second wife of Henry VIII and mother to Elizabeth I, Queen Anne Boleyn with Anne Boleyn historian Claire Ridgway (me!) plus guest speakers, historians Dr Jonathan Foyle and Lesley Smith.
You will also enjoy a private after-hours tour of Hever Castle, followed by dinner in the Hever Castle dining room, a visit Hampton Court Palace and the Tower of London.
For the duration of the tour you will stay at the magical Hever Castle, Anne’s childhood home, for 4 nights of luxury! Enjoy exclusive access to the entire Astor Wing including music room, billiard room, lawns, tennis court and outdoor swimming pool!
You will be transported in a luxury air-conditioned coach for the duration of the tour so you will arrive everywhere in comfort and style!”

You’ll also get to meet my dear friend and co-writer, Dr Owen Emmerson, who, as Castle Supervisor at Hever, gives us wonderful insights into the castle and the Boleyns.

The Anne Boleyn Experience really is magical and I never get enough of it.

Do head over to the links to find out more about these amazing tours. I hope to meet you soon!
