I just wanted to write a quick post to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Many of you will have seen this Christmas card because it was behind one of the doors of the advent calendar, but I wanted to share it with all of you and wish every single one of you, and your families, a very Happy Christmas. This site wouldn’t exist without you so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

By the way, do comment below and let me know if Santa brings you any Tudor-themed treats!

P.S. Don’t forget to check out the final door on the advent calendar!

  3. Merry Christmas to you too, Claire! And thank you again for the site. So far I’ve received a DVD of Anna Netrebko in Anna Bolena, which I’m looking forward to seeing once the excitement has died down (a week, maybe?)

    1. Oh, and in a great display of timing the magnets arrived in the mail at about four this afternoon — thank you so much, Claire and Tiffini! They’re lovely (my favourite is the one with her signature, of course, but they’re all great).

  4. A JOYOUS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HEALTHY AND HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR CLAIRE AND FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!! THE SAME MESSAGE IS BEING SENT TO ALL OF MY FELLOW TUDOR LOVERS AROUND THE WORLD!!!

CLAIRE, THE ADVENT CALENDAR IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC AND I LOVED “UNWRAPPING” MY DAILY PRESENT….I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MUCH WORK WENT IN TO CREATING IT!!! IT HAS BEEN APPRECIATED GREATLY AND I SADLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT I SHALL DO DURING THE LONG AND WEARY MONTH OF JANUARY!! HA! HA!

THANK YOU AGAIN…..SINCERELY WISHING I COULD HAVE FEASTED IN THE COMPANY OF KING HENRY THE 8TH AND HIS BELOVED ANNEBOLEYN………..MISS ELAINE OXOXOXOXOX

  5. Merry Christmas everyone !!!!!!:) I got a necklace with a picture of Catherine of Aragon with a quote that says “lastly Imake this vow that mine eyes desire you above all things”

  6. Merry Christmas to you and your family and The Anne Boleyn Files. Loved Loved Loved the Advent Calendar for this year.
Happy New Year and looking forward to whats new for 2013. I got your last book “On this Day In Tudor History”.

  7. Aloha and Mele Kalikimaka! This Christmas I received Vercors’ superlative but a bit rare novel of Anne Boleyn-translated from the original French. It already has become a favorite treat of mine up there with Ives’ biography; really superbly written and so detailed in style and substance. I also receved a couple of other kind of obscure histories by Frances Hackett, Queen Anne Boleyn and The Personal History of Henry the Eighth, which I will not bother to keep. There is a sort of prurience/voyourism flavor in those two that does not fit with my beliefs about AB. However, there are plenty of new and intelligent writing angles derived from Vercors’ special sources to make it by far my favorite AB novel. Very believable, well researched, and extremely respectful of the spirit of this brilliant woman.
So Merry Christmas to you all!

  8. Merry Christmas to all! I did get a Tudor themed present – a Toby type vase which resembresembles a Tudor lady – not sure if its meant to be one of the WIVES……I will have to take a pic and see of anyone recognizes her.

  9. A happy and productive New Year to you Claire. Many thanks for all the knowledge you have imparted during 2012. How about a book on one of the more neglected and maligned women from the Tudor period? Continued success with the Anne Boleyn Files!

        1. Have you been on that delicious wine you produce there, Baroness!! 🙂
Hope you are having a great Christmas, Cheers!!

  10. I received your book, Claire, “On This Day In Tudor History”, from my son for Christmas and am loving it! Very enjoyable!

  11. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day, and are continuing to enjoy the days that are left of the Festivities.

    My Tudor related gifts were,
3 of the Tudor dressed charactor dolls that I collect, these one were from the late 50’s early 60’s. Got K of A, A.B., and Jane S.

Two books by Lacey Baldwin Smith, Treason in Tudor England and
Henry VIII: the mask of royalty
    .
Audio books, (so helps making tedious chores pass easily having some one read to you!)
Life and Times of Queen Elizabeth I by Elizabeth Jenkins
The Lady in the Tower, by Alison Weir
The Fifth Queen. by Ford Madox Ford
Mary Queen of Scots by Jacob Abbott
The Boleyn Inheritance by Ms. Gregory….I know, I know, have read the book, it is as it is, fictional, but I enjoy her stories, and using her to argue with when I know what she has written is the product of a very good imagination, 🙂 get what I mean…I love all books on the Tudors, good, bad, great and absolutely terrible even, the last ones sometimes remind me of ‘Carry On’ films so removed from what we know/believe the truth is now, they are comical, and they make me laugh, which is good for the soul….

And last, but no means least Anne Boleyn’s emblem the ‘White Falcon’ in the form of a lapel pin/brooch, from a very kind and thoughful friend….how lucky was I.

  12. Merry Christmas Claire!! Hope your holidays are going well!

My Tudor gifts were a French Hood (now I’m searching for a renaissance faire to go to and wear it) and the Anne Boleyn execution necklace from the Tudors. It was bought off here, and I’ve been wearing it everywhere!

      1. It’s a brownish-gold color and edged with little brown jewels. I’ve got an Elizabethan style dress that I’m hoping to pair it with, so I’ll be looking for a faire to wear it too.
