Happy Valentine’s Day! Steve spent the afternoon at the hospital, nothing serious, just a set of follow up tests, but what a date to choose!
When he got back though we had an early evening meal out. We went out last night to the Alice In Wonderland Experience which is an interactive creation of the famous book and you follow either Alice or the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole and around the theatre and great hall and court room. It was very good and we had wine and crapes first. It was family focused but really beautiful sets. Our friend did the art and movement for the Cheshire Cat.
Loved reading the letters Henry wrote to Anne. He really did love her I think but it all went fatally wrong.
Glad Steves ok Bq and what great fun you had following Alice on her journey into wonderland, I absolutely adore that story iv been a fan since I was a little girl and love watching the films, I loved the Fiona Fullerton film made in 1972 and the one which was a television drama with the late Ken Dodd, in fact I bought the DVD just before Christmas, I prefer it to the ones with Johnny Depp in although visually they are fantastic and very entertaining to watch, I do prefer it when the makers stick as close to the story as possible, Lewis Carroll or Charles Dodgson which was his real name gave generations of delight to little girls around the world, he was a mathematician at Oxford as well as being a keen photographer and his muse happened to be a little girl called Alice Liddell a daughter of some friends of his, some critics have suggested he had an unhealthy interest in her and his images show one of Alice quite scantily clad, also he used other children dressed just as scantily in different poses, yet it was fashionable in Victorian society to photograph children but some critics have suggested he could have been a paedophile, however many well loved figures in history have taken a beating now and then, mostly from those who like to see evil in everything and Lewis Carroll ( I shall use his pseudonym) has entertained many with his enchanting tales of Wonderland and Through The Looking Glass.
