For anyone in America, I just checked the TV schedule. James Cameron’s Titanic is on the National Geographic channel tonight at 8:00 pm EDT.

Mya Elise, “Titanic 100: mystery solved” is being advertised to be shown on the History Channel on Sunday, April 15th in the UK. Given the date I would presume the US airing will also take place on the same day.

D’Hoffryn says he’s seen adverts for Canada for the 15th…

I am watching the history channel today, and an ad came on. It said “Titanic 100: Mystery Solved” will air in Canada on 15 April. According to the History Channel Canda, the show shall air at 9PM ET/PT.

Titanic Fun Fact:
The last remaining survivor of Titanic died in 2009, she was only nine weeks old when she was on the ship and saved by a lifeboat. She was 97 years old and she died just a month after stars of Titanic movie Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet helped pay her nursing home expences.

I’ll be boring and just watch Cameron’s Titanic or at the very least listen to the soundtrack on the official anniversary.

Not boring! That movie is definately one of my list of greatest movies of all time. It never gets old for me, and I know almost all the words to it. I’ll watch the movie on April 14th, and I watched it in theaters in 3D on the 4th.

I always had a weird desire, when I was younger, to have been on Titanic when it sank (and to survive) but after watching Cameron’s Titanic all those years ago in a darkened theatre, that desire was thrown out the window. No way do I now wish to have been on the Titanic.

I know, it’s so horrible, especially imagining all the people that died and then reading that it could of been prevented. Yeah they sure made headlines alright.
I cried so much when I watched Titanic the other day, more than I ever had during it and If I had been there seeing all those people suffer and do everything thing they can to try and have a chance, it’s heartbreaking. Oh! The scene that really kills me in the movie is when the older couple are laying in bed holding hands and crying knowing that they only have a few minutes together, and the mom putting her 2 small kids to sleep -….

I hear ya, those are the two scenes that get me everytime

I know have a dilemma, my local station down under is showing the Titanic miniseries/movie by the write of Downton Abbey on the night of the sinking’s anniversary. Do I watch that or do I watch Cameron’s Titanic to commemorate the anniversay?

Gosh, if you have a recording thing that’d come in handy. You could record one show and watch the other…

My problem has been solved, clearly I need my eyes tested. The station isn’t showing the mini series on Sunday. They are showing in on Wednesday. So yay I can watching Leo die on Sunday and then watch Part 1 of the mini series on Wednesday.

Bill and Mya, here in the UK we have now seen 3 of the 4 episodes of the Titanic mini-series. I will not spoil it by saying anything regarding the content, but I shall say my opinion of it has changed from episode 1, in fact I could probably sum it up in one word, but what that word is you’ll have to judge for yourselves.Wink In any event there’s episode 4 to go yet so my opinion may change yet again. I hope you enjoy it anyway.
BTW, has anyone else had a problem with unread posts after logging on? The system keeps telling me that there are no unread posts everytime I log on even when there has been a lot of activity, so I have to search them out in the dark, so to speak.

I’ve got the same problem Neil and I think it has something to do with the forums clock. I noticed this morning (my time) that apparently there were no new messages but then I noticed someone posted in the Marie Antoinette thread ‘8 hours ago’ which I thought was wierd. I then posted in the George Boleyn thread and it told me that I posted in that ‘7 hours ago’ when it was less than 7 seconds ago. SO not sure what is up.

Back to topic: 4 parts of the Titianic mini-series? I thought it was just two. Does that mean it’s 8 hours long? Crikeys, do I have the patience and commitment LOL. Maybe travelling an hour to watch Cameron’s Titanic in 3D might be the best bet.

Bill, It’s being shown in the UK in 4 parts, each part being about 45 minutes in duration (although it’s scheduled running time is an hour, as it is an independent production there are ad’ breaks), so it could well be in two parts in Australia but the total running time will still only be 4 hours.
