  1. Well I felt stuffed listening to your video Claire, the Tudors did indulge in huge amounts of meat and really, game and fish aside a diet rich in red meat is not considered healthy for the average human to indulge in, the amount of fat evident in pork lamb and beef and today we have the knowledge that too much fat hardens the arteries which can lead to strokes and heart failure, the wealthy Tudor household certainly loved their meat, but it was the poorer man who possibly ate more healthy, partaking of dishes that included vegetables more, of course when they could, acquire fish or the odd rabbit and wild bird, I myself have eaten venison rabbit and woodcock, and I know there are possibly vegetarians reading this, and you of course Claire, but I must add the woodcock is absolutely delicious, and I can well understand why for centuries it was the ‘dish of kings’.
