Hey all,

Just wondered how many people thought that Thomas Seymour did in fact make a play for Elizabeth when she was living with him and Catherine Parr.

All i've read is stuff about how Thomas used to touch her and sneak into hers rooms, and Catherine Parr kicked Elizabeth out when she caught them. And then how Thomas wanted to marry Elizabeth…wait…or was that Mary I's husband when Mary was dieing?

But yeah thats all i've heard about Tom Seymour trying to get at Elizabeth.

I've also heard the famous story about how Thomas, with Katherine looking on, slashed Elizabeth's dress to ribbons in the gardens in 'fun'. Mya – that was both Philip and Thomas. Thomas tried, after Katherine's death, to get both Elizabeth and Mary to marry him. Philip later did the same (but with only Elizabeth obviously). My guess is that Thomas Seymour did all things previously discussed; but the question is, what did Katherine Parr walk in on? Kissing, or more? My personal belief is only kissing, but what does everyone else think?

Must admit I don't know a great deal about Thomas Seymour. I just wonder how much of it was “Court Gossip”???

Does anyone know of a good book about Thomas Seymour as he does sound an interesting character Wink

Well. Elizabeth I adore even more than Anne. But lets face it- she was a red head. She was also a very clever woman. But Thomas happened to her before her other lessons politic.. So I too wonder how far it went. What a snake he was!
