Good day to you Lady Claire,

an interesting aside to amuse you on this summers day…

Sometime ago …
in my ten pin bowling period ..

i was asked by my internet provider to choose a name /non de plume..
for my connection etc …

i chose bowlingball …but unfortunately that was not available

and so i adapted to boleynball…
which they said yes that’s ok…..

sometime later i had need to ring i/service provider
and a very nice man from mumbai(bombay)answered …

in India to obtain work in the I.T industry with a major brand name company,
you must be a graduate,with I.T skills,
you must also be able to speak english clearly
and must be educated to a degree standard, more or less,

he asked me was my internet name “boll e yen ball “…
i said yes but it’s actually pronounced boleynball…

he asked me
“what is a boll e yen ball”.?..

i smiled…
“it’s just a play on the word bowling ball using the name of anne boleyn”…
i replied

he asked me..
“and who is Anne Boleyn, is she a famous person “?

“erm yes” said i,
“she was from the middle ages
and was married to Henry 8th and caused a big fuss as we say”..

he then asked me..
“And who was Henry 8th” ?

!! …

“a King of England, one of if not thee, greatest Kings we’ve ever had,
have you never heard of him ” I asked ?

he apologised and said,
“i am sorry but no, i have never heard of Henry 8th”

“That’s ok, google him, you’ll find him most interesting”, i continued…

“Now ….about my bill, what’s going on here”? says me…

it’s a strange world sometimes isn’t it just,

those interested in the Tudors et al,
quite understandably, presume everybody must know about King Hal’ and his adventures,

to me, it’s a bit like not knowing there’s a moon in the sky

“you mean you’ve never seen that big white thing” …….

and for those that are just beginning to learn of, and watch films etc on the Tudors..

“Oh you lucky lucky people ..such treats await that you can never guess.”
