You know, I've always wondered how the Howards got as far as they did.  I guess because there were so many of them, and they all possessed a sharp intelligence (though hardly any of them used it for good and their ambition often got in the way of their common sense).  However, we do have them to thank for helping make the Tudor era so captivating and addictive!

Yes, they were increeeeedibly ambition and stopped at NOTHING to get what they wanted. I'm not sure if this is true, but I've heard that Thomas Boleyn (not so much the Howards, but still) forced Anne to wear her famous B necklace so that everyone, including her, remembered the Boleyn family. I think that, at first, the Howard and Boleyn ambition was helpful to Anne, but later on, her own uncle condemned her to die. How horrible. Poor Anne and Catherine Frown

Its been over 2000 years and the meek have still not inherited the earth, the Howard's did well though!

If it was not this, then it would be something else?

We don't know when the meek shall inherit the earth.  In the meantime, people like the Howards are having a field day. (no pun intended) We can only hope they leave some part of the earth for the meek.

I had never read that about Anne's necklace, but it's not surprising.

In the end Norfolk and her Father condemned her.   Thomas Boleyn definitely sat as a juror for the trial of the 4 men and found them guilty.  In doing so, he condemned his children to death.  Real pieces of work these family members were.
