So I've read back over some of my more recent posts and I've realized that I'm coming off incredibly b!tchy and obnoxious–even I don't like me.  In my defense, I'm really stressed out about trying to get a job this coming school year and prospects are not currently looking good and it's put me in a bit of a bad mood (which is apparently spilling out EVERYWHERE!).

So if I've responded to one of your posts lately and I've offended you or made you feel belittled or demeaned, please know that has not been my intention.  Apparently my ability to self-edit has been lacking and I am not usually this cranky or stick-in-the-muddish.

For all my fellow Americans, have a great July 4th and short work-week.  For all those across the pond, have a good week!!

{{{Hugs}}} Meg.

I didn't notice anything either.

We had Canada Day on Friday, so last week was a long week-end. DH who works for a company with American sites has taken today off as well.

It's always bunnies.

I hadn't noticed anything either.  Don't feel bad, I'm feeling a little prickly myself.  I think it's the heat.  Vacation in 5 days.  Good luck with your job.  We're rooting for you.  Hope you are having a great holiday weekend.

To all the Americans…Happy Independence Day.  To all those across the pond…Have a great weekend.  To all the Canadians…Hope you had a good Canada Day.

Hello Meg,

You posted this just after I posted a comment that I felt something I had said was pretentious and irrelevent. I hope you didn't think my post was in responce to a comment you had made, because that wasn't the case at all.

I've never found any of your posts bitchy or obnoxious in any way. You always make sensible and intelligent comments and I can't see that anyone could take offence at what you say.

Nor me, I hadn't noticed anything either Meg!  And all the super, super-best with your job, I've got my fingers crossed for you!  (which makes it rather difficult to type…. Smile )

Aw, I hadn't noticed anything either Wink
All I've ever noticed on here are really kind wonderful people who accept everyone's point of view, that's the reason I keep coming back!

Thanks, guys!  Maybe I've been looking at it through my moody glasses.  And this god-awful heat!!  I didn't think it could possibly get any hotter during the summer than it did in Tennessee and then I moved 4 hours south!  I was excited this afternoon when I looked at the thermometer on DH's car this afternoon and the temperature was only 84 because a storm was rolling through!!!

So looking forward to fall!!

But I had noticed that I was being a little short with the kiddos and hubby around the house…  I could seriously go for a vacation!!

That's right!!  You guys are in the middle of winter right now, aren't you?!  I always forget about that.  Then the answer is clear:  I should spend my summers in the southern hemisphere and my winters/falls/springs in the northern hemisphere.  I now have a perfect excuse to check off a travel destination from my bucket list 😀

@Anyanka:  We always make at least one trip to Wisconsin during the winter and the past few years the winter has been really crappy!  I love fall/winter/spring where we live (fall starts early and lasts for a while, winter is fairly short and relatively mild, and spring is in the air by mid-March), but summers are just a bummer.  Hot, humid, and, lately, plagued with sudden thunderstorms.  So New Zealand from May-late July would be good 😀

If you like  relatively cold, autumnal days (with the odd earthquake thrown in for free) then NZ is definitely your kinda place!!!!

We get tornadoes around here.  Which sort of freaks me out because East Tennessee never got many tornadoes and when we did, there was always a mountain around to break it up.  But around here, it's really a lot flatter than I'm accustomed to.  As for earthquakes, we've had the odd small ground-shaker, something that might rattle the pictures on the wall or whatever, but I've never experienced a real BIG earthquake before.  They look pretty terrifying!!

I was in Auckland on Friday night and there was an earthquake, small but nerve-racking nonetheless.  But the biggest earthquake I've ever been in was in Los Angeles and that WAS terrifying.
