Yesterday I went with my family to the Leeds Armoury museum, in Leeds (surprise surprise!)

I have to admit I 'm not a big fan of guns, swords and other weapons, but there's a Tudor floor and they have a full suit of armour which belonged to Henry VIII (before he became really, erm…large Laugh) and also the horned helmet which was presented to him somewhere around 1511. According to one of the curator's, approximately 30 years ago they were advised to insure the suit of armour for £8million!!! To preserve it it's in quite a dark corner so my photo didn't come out too well Frown  The highlight for me though, was a full suit of armour worn by Robert Dudley, thought to be during Elizabeth's visit to Kenilworth Castle in 1575.

If anyone's ever in the region it's definitely well worth a visit.

I've always wanted to visit the Leeds armouries but never got there, I love anything like this especially weapons of war.

I've just come back from Warwick Castle and they too had some of Henry's armour, it's amazing to see something Henry actually wore.

I used to live in Leeds, so have been to the armouries a few times.  Once I was lucky enough to go on a day when they were performing a joust.  That was pretty cool to watch.  And I found the Tudor floor the most interesting (after the joust that is).
