Hi,

My name is Monica Patterson, and I’m 29 years old. I live Indianapolis, Indiana U.S.A. I’ve always loved history and the culture of the people in those times. I have no idea why I love it, but I do! Because of my I interest, I majored in English literature and Anthropology.

Now I work in sales (likely story, haha!).

Anyway, I’ve been looking at this website for a long while. I also “like” your Facebook page. I love “This Day In History”, and all of the other interesting articles and posts. Not only the insightful and often witty posts from you, but the other scholars you research. Very inspiring!! In fact, today you posted an article, from another gentleman, about gender roles in relation Katherine Howard’s rise, and unfortunate downfall. Last night, I was watching season 4 of the Tudors with Katherine Howard (I watch every season of “The Tudors” often)

Anyway, thanks for all you do!!!

Welcome to happy home Monica. We are a mixed bunch of scallywags, who enjoy a good debate and sharing a laugh or 2.
Jump right in with any questions someone is always around to answer them. I look forward to reading your posts..
I liked the Tudors series too by the way, but do not take it as sancrosanct, view it as you would any other soap opera.. I kind of look at them as a Dallas or Dynasty type thing set in Tudor times. (Joan Collins would make an hysterical Anne Boleyn the daft cow can’t act her way out of a wet paper bag. How about Larry Hagman (RIP) playing Henry?)

Mavis Riley or Annie Walker to play Anne of Cleves
Dot Cotton to play Catherine Parr.
Then of course there is the children. Dreary (Yeah I know it’s Deidre, but she always blubbing) Barlow to play Mary.
Nick Tilsey to play Eddy.
Bianca (from Eastenders) to play Elizabeth (instead of shouting Ricky across the square or in this case the courtyard. It would be “ROBIN!!!!!!!!”)
