according to the wikipedia page of the actress who played the young Elizabeth Tudor in ‘The Tudors’, she is starring as Catherine Howard in a new film set for release in 2013; anyone else heard anything about this?

Well this has certainly thrown me. It will be good to see K.H’s side of things, where her marriage with Henry was concerned..
I can only hope that the producers or more importantly the script writers don’t portray K.H as a pathetic sort of charater, as so many screen adaptations of her seem to do.. K.H wasn’t as stupid as some people think, I think personally she was merry girl but was easily led by those around her. Sounds like a typical teenager to me. Trying to fly before she could walk.. Of all of Henry’s Queen she’s the one I feel most pity for, as she was thrown into the Lions den and torn to pieces.
By the way welcome to our happy family.

I love when they make movies/TV shows about Tudor Era and the six wives. It’ll be nice to see Katheryn’s side of things, maybe i’ll get to understand her in a better way. A movie dedicated to just Katheryn’s story is a good idea, it’d be cool to have a movie dedicated to each wife and have their stories more accurately told. Maybe people will get a better perspective on them.
• Grumble all you like, this is how it’s going to be.

Have you seen the 6 part serial of the 1970’s with Keith Michell? That’s very good. Angela Pleasence played K.H. Her portrayal puts K.H in a different light, basically as a girl who wants to take care of the King but is disallusioned by him when she discovers he’s not like the god like creature of his youth.

This would be great as there just isn’t enough historical films about as all there ever is at the movies are action movies which are of no interest to me.
I hope it does get made because I’m still waiting five years on from reading that a remake of the Dambusters was in production but I’ve never read or seen anything about this sadly so let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I wonder how they plan to portray Jane Boleyn, cause as The Tudors and PG have made it perfectly clear that the way she behaved with Katherine was linked with the involvement in her in laws downfall.I’d like to see a more sympathetic apporach than the shrill harpy of the ficitional world.
Yes totally agree with you there, I’d like to see Jane as someone who tried all she could to stop K.H from doing the dirty on Henry, even to the point of sitting K.H down and explaining why she shouldn’t carry on with her affair with Culpepper. I also like to see another side to Derham too, we only saw the drunken braggard in The Tudors. I’m sure there was more to the guy than just what was portrayed.
