Hi Everyone
I finally got round to logging in!
I have been a massive fan of Tudor history for as long as I can remember. What really sticks in my mind as the turning point was being aged 8, sat in school and being allowed to watch the recovery of the Mary Rose, 11th October 1982. Right there, at that particular moment, I became hooked in all things Tudor!
My first love affair was with Henry before turning to Anne as my ultimate heroine. I also have soft spots for Lady Jane Grey; Elizabeth 1; Lord Essex; and Bess of Hardwick, to name but a few. I think growing up in an historic town also helped foster a real love for history for I love nothing more than traipsing round castles and historic sites in my spare time.
Then in 2002 I found my real life 'Henry' who not only encourages my love for the Tudors but booked Hever Castle for our wedding day one wintery evening in December 2006! I am one very lucky girl in that I had the priviledge of being wed beneath the portrait of Henry and opposite the replica clock Anne once gave Henry, in the InnerHall. We also had our wedding banquet by candle light amidst the heavy Flemish tapestries that adorn the walls in Hevers Dining Hall. I have some fantastic photos of us posing beside the wax replica of my heroine in the Long Gallery which serve as excellent reminders of a fantastic day.
And if that didn't show dedication enough, my husbands wedding gift to me was the embroidering of my name on the back of one of the Gideon tapestries at Hardwick Hall during their recent restoration work.
My gift to him? Two beautiful children, the most recent being my 7 month old daughter who we named Erin Boleyn! We are shortly to officially 'name' her at a former Royal Tudor Hunting Lodge which has it's own Anne Boleyn room with her crests displayed within the ceiling.
I already love this site and cannot believe there are so many of us who share the passion! I look forward to getting to know some of you better!
Love

Welcome tinkbellefairie. What a wonderful wedding you must have had; it sounds beautiful. Congratulations on two children and I love the name Erin Boleyn.
I too have been a fan of Tudor history since I was a child. I've always been fascinated by the past and love travelling to the UK to visit the amazing Tudor sites.
I hope you enjoy the site. It's a great place to be and I look forward to your posts.
Best!

Thanks for the welcome! We are so lucky to have so many remaining historic sites given the time that has passed since then and now.
Are you planning a return trip to the UK in the future?

Hi tinkbellfairie,
Welcome to The AB Files and the forum, it's great to 'meet' you! How amazing to have got married at Hever Castle – a real fairytale wedding I bet! And how sweet of your husband to get your name put on that tapestry and what a fantastic name for your daughter!
Anyway, I look forward to hearing your views on things
