Hey everyone!
I am new to this site, but not to the history of Anne. I read Phillipa Gregory's 'The Other Boleyn Girl' and fell in love with her. There's just something about her that I relate to myself.. I'm not the 'fair haired and peaches girls' out there, but I do have the dark hair, eyes, eyebrows and small neck. (insert laugh here) Anne has given me determination.. and I really admire her. She's helped me make decisions in my life in ways that teenagers these days probably don't even think about.. I know I'm young (I'm 16 years old), but I have such a passion for Tudour History it's creepy and obsessive.. I'm not like other girls my age.. is this good or bad?

Oh its definitely good!!! I've been an Anne fan since I was ten (I'll be 34 in a couple of months) and there was no one who was into the same stuff as me (not until later on in high school anyway) so I can understand where you're coming from! I like what you said about Anne, thats she's given you determination – and that is absolutely a good thing! I think we could all learn a lot from her, especially from her courage and convictions, not matter how old (or young!) we are.
As Impish said we're all obsessed here, so I'm sure you'll fit right in
definitely the right place for you then, as Claire's tag line, debunking the myths about AB. In just over a year on this forum, I have learned so much and have seen much of written history rightfully challenged and logic applied. We all individually have a healthy obsession about Anne, now collectively in one convenient place. (thanks to Claire and Tim!) I have made great friends with people here, maybe its because we are all wonderful people?
So, welcome to the files and may your obsession grow bigger and bigger, no one here will see a thing wrong with it, hehe!!!
If it was not this, then it would be something else?

Thanks very much for your kindness! I'm sure my obsession will grow bigger and bigger, since their are similiar people like me who love Anne out there. It's very nice to be able to talk to people about her…and how she's changed history. My next goal is a family trip to England! My father wants to go for the same reasons I do, so hopefully it will work out well! Imagine.. the Tower Green, the chapel, the CASTLES! AHH! I simply can NOT wait to see what Anne saw with her very own eyes.

Hi BoleynChild,
Welcome to the AB Files! As you can see, we're all a friendly bunch of history obsessed people! Paudie is right, I have a flickr page from last May's tour and also my recent holiday so you can see places like the Tower, Hampton Court Palace, Hever Castle, Kenilworth Castle, Bradgate House ruins (home of Lady Jane Grey) etc. The photos are at http://www.flickr.com/photos/t…..iles/sets/ and I hope you enjoy browsing through them.
Don't feel bad for having a passion in something worthwhile and being different from the crowd, instead give yourself a pat on the back for wanting to do something with your life and for having the strength of character to be different, just like Anne was.

Hi BoleynChild. I think it's awesome that you are a lover of history at your age. Most of us on this site were young when we discovered our love of history. You should feel right at home here.
That is so cool that Anne has given you your determination to do things and to do them well. I think you are going to love this site. Enjoy!

Thank you Claire and Sharon!
Your comments have really given me confidence- especially about my relation to Anne herself, which makes me feel great! Thanks for the Flickr link! Me and my father are saving up money as we speak so we can go to England for two weeks!

I think it's wonderful that you are young with such an interest in history! I'm 22 now, and I also had unique interests when I was your age. I'm glad that you're following your passion. Just think of it this way…Anne wasn't like other girls her age either, and look where her intelligence and drive took her 🙂 I went to England the first time when I was 18 for my graduation present to myself, so that I could see the Tower of London and all of the other places I dreamed of. Everyone else was going to the beach 😉

Congratulations on getting to go to England, Boleynchild!!! I live “across the pond” in the US, but I absolutely love England and want to live there someday. Don't worry, your obsession isn't weird at all–I've been obsessed since age 9! Anne and the Tudors (I mean the family, not the show) have really shaped who I am….maybe that does sound a little creepy….
But seriously, we're all obsessed too, so don't worry! I think it's great you can relate to Anne. Have fun on the forum and the AB Files!

It's not creepy at all that the Tudors and Anne have shaped you! I feel exactly the same way. If you really think about it, it makes you all the more interesting because of the history and knowledge that have been brought to you at the same time! I know I sure appreciate it. EXPECIALLY this site. It's truly amazing, and thank you Claire for starting this up. My hat goes off to you

That is definitely a good thing! I used to get such weird looks from people in school when I would have my nose stuck in a huge book about the Tudors. I think that being obsessed with Anne has helped shape me into the woman I am today, she was such an intelligent and interesting woman, it would be hard for anyone NOT to be intrigued by her.
