I think I was about 9. I was in elementary school and loved the library's non-fiction section. The librarian was a lovely lady who indulged by love of books, and recommended I read about Henry's wives. My love of Elizabeth begun at age 7. So, I read the book and was hooked by Anne's story.

My mom had always been interested in Elizabeth I and Henry VIII so I kind of grew up with the stories but it wasn't until I was 16 that I really looked into anything about Anne. I was doing a report on Elizabeth and ended up catching a bit more information on Anne than I was used to hearing…and well…lol I got sucked in.

I was in my late teens. I had read a novel about King Charles II. The book was 'Forever Amber.' That got me started on the Kings and Queens of England. Then I read 'Fortune Made His Sword' about Henry V. I went to a bookstore and asked if they had any books on the Queens of England. When he asked me which Queen, I told him Elizabeth. He answered me in a nasty tone and rolled his eyes. The creep. Anyway he did find me a book about her. It was shortly after that that I started reading about Anne. That was over 40 years ago.

I was about seven years old when The Six Wives of Henry VIII with Keith Michell was first broadcast in the US. My mother liked to watch it, and I was soon hooked. I read all that I could about Anne Boleyn, including Shakespeare's Henry VIII. (OK, so I didn't understand all of the language, but I understood enough of it.) A year or so later, I decided to dress up as Anne for Halloween, in red velvet with a white brocade underskirt (and hanging fake fur sleeves and trim): Mom made the outfit. (I wish I had a picture of my eight-year-old self as Anne to show you! It's probably somewhere in my mother's boxes of old photos.)

I'm just reading Shakespeare's Henry VIII, makes half-sense…
I wish to confess to you and tell you my secret, which is that I am no angel. -Queen Elizabeth I

I think I was about 8 or 9 and my facsination grew, I love all history right up to WW2 but my first love will always be Tudors purely because they must have been terrifying times to live in but also amazingly interesting.
People of that era seem larger than life, people today seem dull compared to these great people of there time and era.
