So.. I was wombling through Amazon and the “look Inside ” feature..I was horrified as to the almost constant “How Badidtty Bad ” the author can make Jane Boleyn to justify their plot points.

Anyanka, these books are about Jane Seymour. I am really getting very fussy about the fiction novels I read of this period. I’ve been spoiled by the truth. Usually I end up getting upset as to how these women are portrayed. If a blurb says the lead character in a Tudor novel was ruthless in her desire to become queen, I pass. There are a few who try and do get it right. They are few and far between.

These novels are even more annoying when some of the people who read them believe wholeheartedly that what has been written is sacrosanct too.
The trouble is books that say the words “Ruthless, Desire and Ambition” within their blurb are why they are popular and why so many people buy them.
I tend to find other uses for books that annoy me, and now that my son in law has taken up Archery, I ‘m quite happy to give him a “Ruthless, Desire and Ambition” book to use for target practice.

I feel for you. I was browsing for a few new books and ended up with nothing. I love the Look Inside feature which means I can decide after a chapter or two whether to spend my cash there or wait for something different.
They may get better and the heroine discovers JB is a real nice person who’s just misjudged…I’m not going to waste my pennies though.

So true Boleyn. The words I find as being huge turn-offs, are the words that sell the book. I like the archery plan.
