Very interesting.  Why would you put a cabbage leaves under a loaf of newly baked bread?  And why would you grow cabbage near a moat?

Cabbage leaf bread is a genuine recipe, even today. Think I'll stick to sliced white though.

I'm glad you all enjoyed it as much as me.  I'm scared of  may-poles now. I just hope Steve Moffart isn't looking for ideas for the next series of Dr Who.
