We have just received The Tudors here in Egypt and I was watching the episode tonight where Henry's sister marries Brandon and the Princess Mary is taken by Lady Salisbury to Ludlow. I think episode 4, season 1 ?

Did anyone else see the mistake made when Henry asked his sister Mary to come to an audience and he asked her about why she was not wearing black after her husband the King of Portugal's death?

When he shouted at her as she left the room after being banished from court he called her 'MARGARET'!!!!! not Mary!!Surprised

I played it back a few times and he definitely calls her Margaret!!

Actually, that was right on the show.  The producers combined their characters for the series, I suppose to avoid the confusion of having two Mary Tudors.

That always annoyed me  Wink

But yeah Henry's sisters Margaret (who married the king of Scotland) and Mary (who married the king of France) were combined into the character of Margaret on the show.  Who married the king of Portugal.  For some reason that I forget!

You'll come across many more glaring inaccuracies on The Tudors but stick with it because for all that it is a bizarrely addicting show!

Ah now it makes sense.

I was sure she married the King of France and all the books she never murdered him??

That's a shame because they should have kept it right historically because my American friend called me after last weeks episode to ask me who was the woman marrying the King of Portugal and I said Mary but was confused also. She read my book and noticed the mistake too.

Anyway I'm loving it all the same. Natalie Dormer is fabulous isn't sheCool

Natalie Dormer's absolutely terrific as Anne!  The third season really suffered without her presence, but in the current season (the fourth and sadly the last  Cry) she apparently makes a comeback in ghost form, along with possibly the other wives.  That hasn't happened yet, but if its true, I can't wait!!!

Wreckmasterjay, I agree!  The reigns of all Henry's children could make for an exciting show.

I had to laugh when I watched last week's Season 4 episode (don't read on if you don't want to know!) and Henry was meant to be meeting James V of Scotland, his nephew, who actually couldn't exist in the show because his mother, Margaret Tudor, never marries James IV of Scotland. Funny! Laugh

I cant see why the Tudors cant run onto the reign of Elizabeth….. it is after all about the Tudors and not about Henry on his own. That could bring out another few series' for us all to enjoy and I think going through her life would be a great ending and bring back Anne now and again too (ghost like or past tense/memory).

That's a brilliant idea!!!

We are just one season 1 here in Egypt, so I have it ALL to look forward toWink
