Has anyone else here seen Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland?

I saw it a couple of days ago and to be honest it left me feeling a little bit disappointed.  I'm a huge Alice fan and a long time admirer of Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and the whole crew but there was something definitely missing.

What did other people think?

I haven't seen it yet, but I plan too… Even if the story is a bit disappointing, I love how it looks.

I haven't seen it yet either but I'm planning to. My brother's seen it twice already (once in costume!) and he really enjoyed it. Mind you, he's a die-hard Burtonite 🙂

Haven't seen it, but from the previews I've seen it looks pretty good.  Did anybody notice that the Red Queen looks a lot like Elizabeth I?

Yeah I immediately thought of Elizabeth l when the first photos started coming out!

Tenniels original drawings of the Queen of Hearts were of course based on the queen in a regular deck of cards which I read somewhere were based on portraits of Elizabeth of York.

I saw it last weekend and saw the Red Queen as Mary I and her sister, the White Queen, as Elizabeth I. They were complete caricatures, of course, and had to agree with Alice when the White Queen kept going on about Alice being her 'champion': “Do it yourself!” *sigh* But of course Alice gives in and looks fab in her armor.
