Hi fellow Anne Boleyn nutters!

I really thought that I was the only one, happily for me, that is not so.

So,I better come in and give myself up…

Like many on Claire’s wonderful and informative site, my interest in Anne Boleyn came with first reading about her in school, if you get the time there are some pictures of mine on the site “Anne Boleyn’s final resting place” in the section “Anne boleyn places” in resources on the top bar. Claire asked me to write a few words to go with the pictures, have a look and I hope you like what you see.

I am a photographer and live in Ireland, on the south west coast. Its an area called County Kerry and I am lucky to live in the countryside near the start of the mountains on the Dingle penenusula, very beautiful here and good for the soul to have all this around me, love it!

I live alone with my Border collie Jack and my cat Daithai (Irish for David) this is convenient if I want to up and go as I did on the 19th of May last, to go to the Tower of London to se the floral tribute delivered to Anne, Jack and Daithai understood, while humans might not? If you know what I mean?

I had hoped that a visit to the Tower and Hampton Court on the 20th of May last, would cure me of this Anne Boleyn thing. No such luck…

I have just got more interested and have an insatiable apetite now for more information and want to know as much as I can about AB, her life, her legacy and the times she lived in, as Claire has written, see her in a true light.

I have my own 1 hour photo store and studio and also work on picture restoration in “PhotoShop”. I have an interest in artists and recently have become a fan of Hans Holbein the younger, Henry’s court painter. I was in London last March and had the great oppertunity of seeing one of Holbein’s sketches of Anne, it was not on display but the kind people at the portrait gallery at the British Museum allowed me a private viewing, I have a copy of it on my wall in my home and it is believed to be the truest likness of Anne, I could look at it for hours.

So thats me!

Going back to the Tower next May 19th.  Claire is trying to have a “meet up” of interested AB fans there as it is “Anne Boleyn Day”. With the possibility of visiting Hampton Court Palace and Hever Castle. If enough of us go, we could have special tours in those places. I think it would be so cool for as many of us to make the trip, what do you all think??

You've gone quiet – just wondering if it's because you were arrested trying to nick the Ludlow Castle Lodge portrait! told you that you should have taken notes from the squirrel video!

Hope you're ok.

It's spooky. And just as I feared … it's all playing out exactly like Dan Brown's latest novel … the 'Anne Boleyn Code'

This looks like curtains for Paudi.

Ha!!!

Anne Boleyn code, cute!

Sorry to have been missing for the last week,

Trouble at work with a machine…

And my dog ran off for four days, leaving me to handle my evil (yes evil, Sarah) cat.

But, hey, it is nice to be missed, so thank you both!

If we all get to meet up next 19th of May, you will see that I am more Austin Powers than \”secret squirrel\” from the video.

I am going to plan the Ludlow trip for early August, so need some help,

I will post that on the Ludlow blog now…

Paudie,

Since you are a photographer could you take a photo of the Holbein sketch and send it to Claire so the rest of us could see it?

Often wonder what she really looked like. The descriptions are so different!

Thanks,

Linda

Hi Linda,

I've forwarded you Paudie's Holbein sketch – let us know what you think of it. Anne's appearance is a real mystery!
