If Arthur had not died when he did so Henry had gone into the church as planned, then say Arthur became king but died later still with no kiddies Henry would still have come to the throne as heir but being older, Katherine well married to all public knowledge for a longer period and wife indeed to Arthur what course might Henry have taken then?
Never married to KOA, I wonder where a bride would have come from for him then?

Ifs are funny things eh?

If Henry hadn’t married KOA, he probably would have married Claude of France who was born in 1499, or possibly the daughter of KOA sister Juana her eldest daughter was Eleanor born in 1498. Susanna of Bavaria, Born 2nd April 1502. or one of her sisters Sybille born 1489 or Sabina born 1492.
There were a few protential candidates for Henry’s hand.
As for Henry entering the Church well we could never really know how things would have turned out for him that way. If Arthur had lived longer and died childless well then there would be a great deal of speculation, would the Pope release him from his vows so that he could continue the Tudor line, or would the Tudor line merge with the Scotish line through Henry’s older sister Margaret earlier than it did?

I’m sure the pope would have allowed Henry to renounce his vows since popes were very political in those days.

A Papal favouring English king made a good buttress against the French . If Margaret had taken the English throne then the might of the joint kingdoms would tip the balance of power in Europe towards France and possibly help win French/Italian wars.

It's always bunnies.

This is true Anyanka. In fact when Mary took the throne in 1553, the Pope said that he would release Cardinal Reggy Pole from his vows if he wished to marry Mary. Perhaps if he had and Mary had married Reg things might have turned out a lot different for Mary then they did.
Reg and Mary’s freindship lasted their whole life time, and I rather think that their marriage would have been happy, even if it wasn’t fruitful. Funny though Reg died only a few hours either side of Mary’s death on the 17th November 1558.
