I OFTEN WONDERED WHAT KIND OF LIFE SHE WOULD OF HAD, IF SHE DID GIVE BIRTH TO A SON. WOULD HENRY STILL LOVE HER FOR WHO SHE WAS, OR WHAT SHE HAD GIVEN HIM. WOULD JANE SEYMOUR PLAY A MAJOR PART STILL IN HIS LIFE. COULD ANNE'S LIFE AT COURT GOT BETTER OR WORSE. I KNOW I SHOULDN'T THINK OF THE COULDA, WOULDA, SHOULDA'S. BUT IT'S WHAT I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO BEEN OF READING ABOUT HER NOW. THEN AGAIN WOULD SHE STILL HOLD THE SAME FACINATION, BE THE SAME PERSON OR SOFTEN NOW SHE HAD A SON/S.

FATE TELLS MY STORY.

I think that if Anne had given Henry a son, she would have been his “favourite” wife and her position would have been safe.  I think, too, that he would have had other mistresses in time – it was the thing that men of status did at that time.  Having a son would have saved her life, but I don't think it would necessarily have saved their love.

I agree, Anne would have been safe and would have been Henry's “true wife”, his true love, for giving him what he wanted, but he wouldn't have been faithful because it was his prerogative as King to have mistresses.

Yes, She probably would have survived if she had a son.  However, Anne could not stand to share Henry with other women.  And Henry couldn't help but be the cheater he was.  Doesn't sound like a happy survival for her.
