What would have become of Anne if she had given birth to a son?
I think she would have been safe and secure. A son would have been her saviour and she would have remained Queen and would have been a great queen with her passion for reform and charity. Henry may well have got bored of her, as was in his nature, and taken mistress after mistress, but none would have been a threat to Anne and her position as queen because she would have done her job and provided an heir.
I wonder what would have happened to England though if Anne had had a son. Would England have become Protestant quicker? Also, we would not have had the reigns of Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I. In fact, it is unlikely that the Stuarts would have come to the throne either. Hmmmm....

Very interesting thought that if Anne had had a son, Edward, Mary and Elizabeth wouldn’t have ruled. Edward wouldn’t even have been born of Anne had had a son!
And also interesting that the Stuarts might not have come to the throne either.
And I belive too that Anne would have been safe if she had had a son, like Jane seymour would if she had lived.

Your right. If Anne had given Henry a son, she would have been safe.Certainly her son, being a male would have been King before his half sisters, Mary and Elizabeth.Mary I imagine would have been married off to possibly Phillip of Spain or someone else. The same might have happend to Elizabeth, married to some english lord or a forgien prince.
Now whether or not England would have become a protestant country much sooner I can’t say.Henry had no problems with the doctrine of the Catholic Church as far as I know. His main move
was beside any love he may have had for Anne, was to produce an heir to take over when he was gone, and not have a repeat of the War of the Roses. But it is an interesting thought.

I expect that England would have been Protestant sooner because assuming that he still died around the same time, Anne would probably have been Reent have had an influence in her son’s life and helped steer policy until he became an adult.

I think if Anne would of had a son, not only would she had lived, but would of ended being Henry’s true love as the only reason I believe Jane Seymour became Henry’s true love. He knew Jane only for such a short time and she died while giving birth!! What man wouldn”t feel that was his true love??
