Although Kris tries to make her items as historically accurate as possible, she believes that there are some "modern" things that make our lives easier...most hoods were attached with ties under the chin - but that can be rather uncomfortable so she makes her Hoods to tie in the back at the hairline. Secondly - usually Black Velvet was used for the veil - she uses black elegance because it is lighter weight and not as hot!
Each French Hood is hand created for each customer. Your headpiece will be made and shipped out to you in 4-6 days from receipt of order and payment.

OMG! So great!! I know what I will buy the next time. I always search a frenchhood on ebay but wooow!
Oh my god… I have ALWAYS wanted one of these. Ebay, specialist sites, google… No where have I been able to find a geniune looking french hood. I eventually downloaded my own instructions. But yay!!!! These are beautiful!!! Thank you!
I just love my Catherine/Mary Crescent hood!
Is the Lady Amelia White Pearl French Hood available without the veiling attached to the back? I have a snood I’d like to wear with it instead.
Yes, Kris can make it without the hood and is always happy to customise hoods to your requirements.
My Lady Amelia hood arrived in perfect condition – very sturdy and feels high quality. Thank you for your quick shipment, excellent packaging and for your overall professionalism.
I am completely in Love with Anne Boleyn!!!! She was not just very pretty and talented with Music and the ability to read and write in German, and speak French, she had AMAZING taste of style for the way she lived in the 1500’s. It is no wonder Henry VIII couldn’t help herself but be in love with her. Who wouldn’t be?
I HAVE ONE QUESTION: I was wondering if you could get “The Lady Amelia French Hood” In the colors of the execution dress? I plan on getting the Execution Dress and I REALLY REALLY want a hood that I like that will match, is there any way that could be done? I’d pay $10-$15 Dollars extra if it needed to be. Just let me know. I am going to school to get my degree as a Historian, and I am going to speaicalize in Tudor History.
Thank You
Courtnie
Any word on my last comment?
Best Wishes,
-Courtnie-
Sorry, Courtnie, I was away on vacation when your comment came in and Kris has been away too, I’ll ask Kris for you and I’m sure she’ll be happy tp help you. Apologies for the delay.
Hi Courtnie,
Yes, that’s no problem. Kris could replace the usual black velvet with the grey duponini satin which the dress is made of. Just order the hood as usual and then email me to tell me you’ve ordered so I know to make the custom change.
Sorry about the delay in answering.
Does the Lady Aimee french hood come with a veil?
Hi Jen,
Yes, it comes with a matching veil or Kris can make it without one if you’d prefer. Thanks.
i plan on ordering a lady amelia hood, wanted to know a couple things.
-s it possible to be made with a gold snood instead of a veil?
-since they seem to be custom made, with standard shipping to the US how long will total delivery time take?
thanks!
Hi Annie,
Yes, Kris should be able to make the hood with a gold snood instead of a veil, as long as she can get hold of one. She can normally get a hood made in 1-2 weeks and then they are shipped by priority due to their size so would only take a few days to get to you. If you wanted the snood that would add a few days on as Kris would have to order one to add to the hood and wait for it to arrive.
Hope that helps.
