Certinly Anne felt bad about the way she had treated Mary. She had Lady Kingston, one of her jailers, sit on her chair while Anne confessed on her knees about all the ill-deeds and thoughts she had had about Mary and asked Lady Kingston to beg Mary’s forgiveness on Anne’s behalf.
From the reports of Anne’s inprisonment, we know she was worried not only about her family but also the men accused with her and thier families.
Anne’s own thoughts appear to vary from acceptance and almost joy in her fate to the depths of despair.
Many of her actions with regards tothe annulment of her mariage to Henry were motivated by keeping Elizabeth safe so I’m guessing those thoughts that Anne had about the material world were designd to ensure the safety and future of Elizabeth as Henry’s daughter. By making sure every effort wasn’t spared in the face of death, Anne ensured that Henry not only recognised Elizabeth but also that at the end she was named as one of his heirs to the throne. Her successes and failures testify to Ane’s etrminaton to get the best posible del out of Henry concerning thier daughter.
I think that at the end, Anne wanted to have a good death. She wanted the world to know she was inocent but accepted her punishment as a good Christian.
The mojority of her last days were about confessing and being absolved. I think the 2 most important emotions Anne had in those final lonely days were potecting her famly especially Eilzabeth and being prepared to face her final Judge.
