Wonderful! there is a FINE LINE between love and hate!

I can see that you and I did have fund doing a great amount of reseearch with your having much more experience in writing things like this than I did. I looked up and learned many things about fencing, french names in 16th century France, and did use (how unoriginal of me) the name of the executioner from one of Claire’s old articles about the name being written from an earlier Claire’s article on his name might have coming from a fiction book written in 1530.

You went to a lot more research than even I did! I checked on British History Online, and found almost nothing there with the usage of the day, but I think you must have, and please correct me if I am wrong, but might have gone to the Austrian Libary Online our of Vienna. This shows great effort not only in thought, use and spelling of the time, and most probably many rewrites before submitting this.

I am very impressed! You’re showing that you have read original documentation in your speech is magnificent, even if Claire did say on another comment on another writer’s speech that this wasn’t necessary to win, and a couple of other things. I, though, give you many claps of praise for your scaffold speech! Brava!

I do see two commentors on here, and I think it’s time to guess that just might have been judges as they are two of the best commentors on the articles. But I do think if ever a contest be held again, the judges should be made known and their qualificaitions to the potential contest entries are made. Just an opinion, not based on fact! It’s Claire’s site and she can make whatever rules she likes. I’m not going to agree that she is the best on this either, as I do generally agree with Claire. I bought the book before I even learned about the winners. So who cares?

Your have impressed me! Thank you! WilesWales

I will defend Queen Anne as long as I’m around! She gave to England, Queen Elizabeth I, the greatest absolute monarch that country ever had!

Just to clear things up, none of the judges are involved in the site at all (except me) and none have commented on the articles.

This competition was meant to be fun but I’m wondering if some of your comments on entrants’ articles might be upsetting. I’m all for discussion but this competition is not about picking holes in people’s work, it’s about coming together, being inspired and creative, sharing our work and commemorating the death of a queen who means so much to us. Can we encourage each other?

They were and all the judges said how difficult it was to choose. It was a moving experience reading them.

    Baroness,

Just to explain, I have to answer WilesWales’s points on The AB Files’s comments section as that is where they were raised, on people’s speeches and not in private, so it’s difficult to keep private and I cannot ignore comments raising issues. I take your point though.

Your speech was wonderful and thank you for entering!

Forgive me, Le’Ann! I must have been mistaken. I meant extensive study with the Vienna Archives for quite some time. What it a joy to have us all trying to bring Queen Anne Boleyn into other interests and to this particular site. Thank you, WilesWales!

I don’t understand what you mean WilesWales. If you mean that sometimes comments appear on the site out of order it’s because sometimes I have to moderate comments on my phone and it’s hard to moderate them in order that way. I like to moderate comments as quickly as possible but obviously am not always at my computer. I’ve had the day off today because of my children being off school so have been out and about.

Baroness has already asked that comments on her article should be connected to the article so this is getting silly!
